The World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank have conducted a study, suggesting that disabilities have burdened more than a billion people in the world today. The research project presented the best data available on how to effectively address obstacles to health care, recovery, education, jobs and social services by developing an atmosphere that encourages people with disabilities to succeed. This has contributed greatly to the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities and became a “must have” resource for public health, human rights and advancement for politicians, service providers, professionals, and advocates for people with disabilities and their families.
