How do you tackle Monday blues?

For the entire week, most of the workers count down to Friday evening to start their weekend. However, two days of the blissful weekend pass all too quickly, making most of us hate going back to work on Mondays. This aversion towards Mondays is called the Monday Blues.
These feelings of dread and anxiety can affect the quality of our work and productivity as it sets the mood for the whole week.
So, how can we tackle Monday blues and come to work each Monday refreshed after a relaxing weekend? Try the following tips:
Do not leave tasks for Monday
We all are eager to start our weekend on Friday, so we overlook many tasks and just leave them for Monday. However, this can be one of the reasons we hate Mondays. We are not dreading Mondays; we are actually dreading the pile of work waiting for us. To avoid Monday blues, try to tackle as many pending tasks as possible on Friday to have a lighter workload on Monday.
Have a fulfilling weekend
Although most of the time we desperately wait for the weekend, it comes and goes without us doing what we planned to do – to rest and relax. Having a refreshing and enjoyable weekend where you relax and do the things you love doing, ensures that you go back to work all refreshed and energized on Monday.
Have a Monday morning ritual
Managers can ensure their team’s spirits are up on Monday by having a Monday morning ritual. It can be small activities like bringing coffee to work or sharing pictures and anecdotes from your weekend plans. Discussing fun activities would remind team members that coming to work doesn’t have to be the end of fun.
Have something to look forward to for Monday evenings
Something dreadful can get passed easily if you can envision your reward at the end of it. Planning your favorite dinner, a luxurious bath, or a refreshing walk, anything that can help you relax at the end of the day will help you ward off Monday blues.
Mondays do not have to be something dreadful and daunting. Sometimes, we just feel the gloom and tension because we are influenced by those around us who are feeling the Monday blues. If we have planned our upcoming week perfectly, Mondays signify the start of those plans, and the results hugely depend on how we spend it. Therefore, having a delightful and energetic Monday will keep us focused and productive throughout the week.
