Genashtim Joins SOCSO’s Career Fair for Visually Impaired Job Seekers

On 10 September 2024, Genashtim participated in a career fair at the Malaysian Blind Association Complex in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Organized by SOCSO Putrajaya in collaboration with the Malaysian Blind Association, the event focused on workforce inclusivity and recruiting visually impaired candidates. This initiative aligns with SOCSO’s motto, “No One Left Behind,” and Genashtim’s core values of providing equal opportunities for all Persons with Disabilities (PWD), regardless of their challenges.
Representing Genashtim at the event were HR Director Vijay Nadarajah, HR Business Partner Ara Rizal, Marketing and Communications Department Head Mactayren Jupiter, and Learning Support Service (LSS) Manager Amalina Hares. The eight-hour event brought together 11 companies, including Genashtim, to engage with a diverse pool of talented candidates through interviews and interactions.
A key highlight of the day was a visit to our booth by Malaysia’s Human Resources Minister, YB Tuan Steven Sim Chee Keong. The Minister expressed his appreciation for Genashtim’s active role in supporting PWD employment and praised the company for creating opportunities for individuals from all backgrounds. His commendation reinforced Genashtim’s commitment to inclusive hiring practices. During the event, Amalina also shared her personal journey as LSS Manager, inspiring attendees and showcasing the valuable contributions PWD employees can make in the workplace, further solidifying our commitment to inclusivity.
Throughout the day, Genashtim had the pleasure of meeting an inspiring group of candidates who displayed resilience, passion, and determination. The team conducted numerous interviews and was impressed by the incredible talents they encountered.
Looking ahead, Genashtim is eager to continue participating in similar events, furthering its efforts to provide opportunities for individuals with diverse disabilities. The experience reaffirmed the belief that inclusivity not only benefits PWD candidates but also strengthens the entire workforce. Ongoing collaboration with SOCSO will remain a driving force towards a more inclusive future.
