Harkin International Disability Employment Summit
Genashtim was one of the very few (if not only) for-profit social enterprise invited for Harkin International Disability Employment Summit on 8-9 December 2016 in Washington DC.
The Summit, ideated by Senator Harkin, brought together leaders from the business, government and the NGO community to discuss best practices on employing persons with disabilities in the formal economy.
The Summit successfully convened 186 participants from 31 countries, including representatives from 66 national, multinational and fortune-500 companies.

As technical partner, Genashtim wins MYR 250,000 grant (US$ 60,000) for Dialogue in the Dark, and helps them train virtually-impaired telemarketers and set up a virtual call centre for them.

Thomas is one of the pioneers in e-Learning in Asia, having worked with an online MBA programme in 2004. His company Genashtim Innovative Learning Pte Ltd is currently the partner in Asia for eCornell, the multiple award-winning e-Learning arm of Cornell University.

Whilst Genashtim is very thankful to ASEAN TV and the Asia Pacific Center for Disability for putting this video together, we do wish that it could have focused on show-casing how persons with disabilities can deliver a world class service to world class clients. As we feel this would better convince people and businesses to change their attitudes.
Our satisfied customers include ABB China, Air Asia, Kaplan Institute Singapore, Taylor's College Malaysia, and Regent Hotel Taiwan. At least a few of them are prepared to give testimonials about the service they have received from us.
Furthermore, Genashtim Innovative Learning Pte Ltd is Singapore-registered company. Whilst the majority of our staff are in various parts of the Philippines, we do have staff, including staff with disabilities in China, Thailand and Malaysia as well.
