Empowering Lives, One Thrift at a Time

World AIDS Day, observed annually on December 1st, is a global call to raise awareness about HIV prevention and ensure access to essential services for people living with HIV. To mark this day in a special way, G-Tribe Balancer, a dedicated group of employees at Genashtim, organized a heartfelt initiative to complement their ongoing “Thrift for Empowerment” project, launched in 2023.
Based in Garut, Indonesia, the project features a community thrift store stocked with pre-loved clothing. Thanks to generous contributions from DG-Bridge, the store’s collection expanded, generating additional profits through sales. This initiative not only promotes sustainability but also creates economic opportunities for disadvantaged individuals in the area.
In the spirit of giving back, the beneficiaries of the project directed part of the thrift store’s earnings to support People Living with HIV (PLWHIV) in Garut. The funds were used to purchase monthly capsule containers, essential for the daily administration of Antiretroviral (ARV) medication, crucial for managing the virus.
Recognizing the importance of this life-saving effort, DG-Bridge provided additional funding to amplify its impact, enabling the initiative to reach more HIV patients and ensure greater access to this vital support.
We applaud G-Tribe Balancer for spearheading such an inspiring and meaningful project. Their efforts exemplify the power of community-driven action in transforming lives and fostering hope.
