Genashtim Wins YPO’s Forum in Business Award

Thomas Ng founded Genashtim Pte Ltd, a 100% remote work company and 90% of the company’s employees are people with disabilities (PWDs).
Genashtim holds weekly work-related virtual meetings which involve Thomas engaging in weekly Mancom calls with the department heads. Since there are limited cross-departmental social interactions among employees because of the work-from-home setup, they may experience feelings of isolation.
To address this issue, Thomas implemented the forum principle through monthly G-Tribe meetings involving employees from different departments interacting socially in their tribes. Tribal chiefs are selected to moderate the virtual social activity. Attendees share personal events for the month and raise work-related issues with the tribal chiefs, who escalate the grievances to the “Big Kahuna,” an elected member from Mancom, for appropriate action.
Genashtim’s monthly G-tribe meetings succeeded in consolidating teamwork and increasing productivity and well-being. Employees appreciate the casual, friendly, and relaxed virtual bonding sessions with colleagues from different departments. G-tribe meetings also provide a confidential and safe space for employees to voice concerns, strengthening communication among the departments and fostering a sense of belonging, trust, and community within the company.
