Paying Tribute to Our Dedicated Workforce This Labor Day

Labor Day fell in the middle of the week on the 1st of May. Once again, it was a time to celebrate Genashtim’s diverse workforce comprising not only ordinary people but also persons with disabilities (PWDs), refugees, members of minority groups, senior citizens and even women from oppressed environments. Our workforce transcends borders as our employees are spread across 26 countries. We have workers from Malaysia, the Philippines, Afghanistan, Brazil, Indonesia and the list goes on!
When it comes to the number of years in service with Genashtim, the majority or 38% of our employees stayed with us for 2-3 years, followed by 37% who contributed to the company for less than 2 years. A committed 18% has been part of our journey for 4 to 10 years, while 7% have been with us for more than 10 years.
Surprisingly, 62% of our employees come from the Gen Z category (individuals born between 1997-2012). This is followed by 18% of millennials (born between 1981-1996) and 14% of Gen X (born 1965-1980).
In terms of gender diversity, the majority of our workforce (53%) consists of women, while 47% are men. Our commitment to gender equality and diversity is also reflected in the composition of our Board of Directors and shareholders. Of the Board of Directors, 75% are female while the remaining 25% are male. The majority of our shareholders (80%) are also women while 20% are male.
At Genashtim, we believe that everyone regardless of disability and age group has the potential to become a leader. That is why when it comes to our top-level management positions, 67% of them consist of PWDs while 22% are seniors. Even for our mid-level positions, 28% are PWDs while 12% are seniors. Of our lower-level positions, 38% consist of PWDs.
Once again, with a grateful heart, we would like to thank everyone for your extensive contributions and dedication to Genashtim and our mission to empower the disadvantaged as we fight for a more diverse and inclusive world.
