Promoting ESG Best Practices and B Corp Certification at the National Bioeconomy Showcase 2024
Genashtim Malaysia participated as an exhibitor at the National Bioeconomy Showcase 2024 (NBiOSHOWCASE 2024), held on July 17-18 at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. The event, organized by the Bioeconomy Development Corporation, brought together over 170 companies from the biotechnology sector.
Genashtim focused on promoting ESG best practices and B Corp certification for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the biotech industry.
The NBiOSHOWCASE 2024 themed “Bioeconomy for All” aimed to create a bio-innovation society in line with the Dasar Bioekonomi Negara 2.0 (National Bioeconomy Policy 2.0). The event garnered significant interest from various stakeholders in the biotechnology sector, underscoring its potential to drive the national economy.
YAB Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, officiated the event and witnessed the signing of 15 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth RM1.55 billion. Prime Minister Anwar additionally announced a RM2 billion allocation for the biotechnology industry’s development and expansion in Malaysia.
Highlighting ESG and B Corps
Genashtim and B Market Builder SEA set up a booth in the exhibition hall’s ESG section, attracting numerous individuals and companies interested in learning more about ESG and B Corp certification. In addition to showcasing products from various B Corp Certified companies in Malaysia, the team also highlighted Genashtim’s products and services.
The Genashtim team who attended the two-day event included Thomas Ng (CEO), Ee Beng Tan (Head of ESG Services), Andrew Manassee (Marcom), Mazrina Mahat (IVA), Amelia Chik (Sales and Business Development), and Mactayren Jupiter (Marcom).

Ee Beng Tan, Head of ESG Services, commented on the company’s participation: “For us, this event marks a new partnership with Bioeconomy Corporation. We are excited and proud to work hand in hand with them to accelerate the adoption of sustainability in the biotechnology industry in Malaysia.”
