Indonesia is hosting more than 14,000 refugees from different countries without the right to work and whose children have no access to education. Some have tried to set up learning centers themselves for their children and youth. However, funding is severely limited.
Genashtim, a social impact organization, has taken multiple steps to lend support to these refugees. It started with providing free-lance opportunities to a small group as a means of financial sustenance. Genashtim then went on to build some classrooms for such learning centers and has rolled out an “Adopt a Teacher” program. Now, it is launching an “Adopt a Learning Center” campaign.
“Adopt a Learning Center” is an excellent opportunity for businesses operating in Indonesia to play a vital role in creating immediate, life-changing educational opportunities for the children and youth in the refugee community.
